Our home city of Surat hosted the 4th Lab-Grown Diamond & Jewellery Buyer-Seller Meet, organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), on 3–4 October 2024.
What is a buyer-seller meet?
Unlike a large public exhibition, a buyer-seller meet (BSM) is a focused trade event. Overseas and domestic buyers meet Indian manufacturers in pre-arranged or walk-in meetings, compare products and build supply relationships. GJEPC runs dedicated BSMs for laboratory-grown diamonds and jewellery.
Why Surat?
Surat is the heart of India's laboratory-grown diamond industry, where stones are grown, cut, polished and increasingly set into jewellery. Holding the meet here lets buyers see the depth of the supply base in one place, and many visit workshops during their stay.
