Lab-grown diamond prices are quoted per carat in Indian rupees (INR). The price depends on the stone's shape, its size band and its colour and clarity grade. Sheladiya Diamond's CVD price list dated 26 September 2026 shows round melee in quality A from INR 5,000 to INR 12,500 per carat.

This guide explains each column of that list, so jewellers and buyers can work out a rough cost before they ask for a quote.

How lab-grown diamond prices are quoted

Our list uses two quality bands:

  • Quality A: colour EF, clarity VVS or VS
  • Quality B: colour GH, clarity VS or SI

Quality A costs more than quality B in every band. Prices may change at the time of ordering. We confirm stock availability before any order is placed.

Round diamonds by sieve size

Round stones are sorted by sieve, which is the millimetre range each stone falls in. Smaller stones have more pieces per carat, so the price per carat is higher for the smallest sizes.

| Sieve (mm) | Approx. weight (ct) | Pieces per carat | Quality A (INR/ct) | Quality B (INR/ct) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| +0 -1.0 (1.00 mm) | 0.006 | 175 | 12,500 | 11,000 |
| +4.5 -5.0 (1.50 mm) | 0.015 | 70 | 5,500 | 5,000 |
| +6.5 -7.0 (1.80 mm) | 0.025 | 40 | 5,000 | 4,500 |
| +11.0 -11.5 (2.70 mm) | 0.085 | 15 | 6,500 | 6,000 |
| +16.0 -16.5 (3.70 mm) | 0.180 | 6 | 7,500 | 7,000 |
| 0.50 to 0.99 ct | n/a | n/a | 7,500 | 7,000 |

The list groups sizes into named grades such as Star, Melee, Eleven and Fourteen. The full table is on the price list page.

Fancy shapes by carat band

Pear, marquise, oval, princess and emerald share the same band prices:

| Carat band | Quality A (INR/ct) | Quality B (INR/ct) |
|---|---|---|
| 0.10 to 0.49 ct | 10,000 | 9,000 |
| 0.50 to 0.99 ct | 9,000 | 8,000 |

Here is a worked example. A 0.60 ct oval in quality A falls in the 0.50 to 0.99 ct band. At INR 9,000 per carat, the stone price is INR 5,400. [NEED: confirm whether this figure includes GST and any cutting or certification charges.]

What the published list does not cover

The list has no per-carat band for round stones of 1.00 ct and above, and no band for fancy shapes above 0.99 ct. [NEED: round and fancy price bands for 1.00 ct and above.] A 1.50 ct stone, for example, needs a quote from our team. Stone prices for larger sizes depend on the rough, the cutting plan and the grade.

How to get an accurate quote

1. Name the shape: round, oval, pear, marquise, princess, emerald or another.
2. State the carat weight or size range.
3. Choose the grade: quality A (EF, VVS/VS) or quality B (GH, VS/SI).
4. Ask for a certificate. We supply IGI, GIA and GCAL certified stones, as well as non-certified CVD stones.
5. Give the quantity. Matched parcels are priced differently from single stones.

You can send your specification to our team or call +91 98251 25050. We reply with stock, price and delivery details.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the price per carat higher for small stones?
Small stones yield more pieces per carat, and each piece needs the same cutting and grading work. That adds cost per carat.

Do prices change over time?
Yes. Our list says prices may change at the time of ordering, so ask for a current quote before you commit.

Can you cut a fancy shape to my specification?
Yes. We cut fancy shapes to customer requirements. Send the shape, size and grade with your enquiry.
